Everything published on FreightProbe

Findings drawn from the FMCSA ELD registry, the data surfaces they are computed from, and the method behind every figure. Each number on this site is recomputed from source when the page is built, so a page and its data cannot disagree.

Findings FMCSA has revoked more ELDs in 2026 than in any year on its list

FMCSA-initiated revocations have risen four years running, and in 2026 enforcement, not vendor withdrawal, is most removals.

Guide Your ELD was removed and you have 60 days to replace it

The 60-day rule quoted from FMCSA, every 2026 deadline on one timeline, and registered replacements with a published price.

Comparison Four ELDs publish a one-truck price, and all are still registered

Blue Ink Tech, Lucid ELD, TruckX and Azuga beside their FMCSA register records, with year-one cost drawn to scale.

Comparison Motive, Samsara and Geotab publish no price

What each pricing page actually does, what the FMCSA register records under each name, and three rivals that print a price.

Comparison No load board sells a hotshot or box-truck plan

Six boards read on one day, the free ways in, and a decision tree that ends in a named board for each small truck.

Comparison What each fuel card says about credit checks

AtoB, Mudflap, EFS, Comdata, RTS and OTR Solutions, quoted, and what the no-credit route costs where it is priced.

Findings Your ELD brand is on the list. Your device might not be.

15 companies on the FMCSA registered list have retired 86 devices between them while listing 30. Checking that a brand appears is not the same as checking that a device does.

Findings 141 ELD companies have no registered device left

62.2% of every removal FMCSA has published belongs to a company with nothing registered today. Most of them did not go out of business, and that distinction changes nothing about the 60-day clock.

Findings Twenty-eight brands, one box

192 of the 936 registered devices are hardware another company also lists. One unit, the Pacific Track PT30, appears under 28 separate brand names, and the registry gives a carrier no way to see it.

Findings Both sides of the load lost authority in the same year

Carrier and broker authority revocations peaked together in 2023, from the 1,529,083-row FMCSA revocation register, with the caveat that decides what a yearly chart of it can mean.

Comparison ELD vendors compared on the record

Every company on the registered list compared on devices maintained, devices withdrawn, FMCSA revocations and shared hardware. Nothing self-reported.

Comparison Load boards compared

DAT, Truckstop and 123Loadboard with prices read from their own pages, plus why the three headline figures are not comparable.

Comparison Freight factoring

No major factor publishes a rate, so this compares the clause that decides who absorbs an unpaid load.

Reference What insurance is required

The 49 CFR 387 floor, unchanged since 1980, and what happens to your authority when a filing lapses.

Data The ELD registry as data

Every registered and removed device as CSV or JSON, licensed CC BY 4.0 and dated, so any figure on this site can be reproduced or disputed with the same rows.

Data Every registered ELD

All 936 devices currently self-certified on the FMCSA registered list, searchable, with model, version, identifier and data transfer method.

Data Every removed ELD

All 387 devices FMCSA has published as removed, with the date and whether the vendor withdrew it or FMCSA revoked it.

Data The whole vendor field

Every company on the registered list, ordered by how many devices it maintains.

Method How every figure here is checked

What we source, how we date it, what we refuse to publish, and how to reproduce any number on this site.

Coverage beyond ELD compliance is in progress across trucking, drayage, LTL, ocean and air freight. The revocation watch, which will mail when a device leaves the registered list, is being built.
